FAQ
What is Hexon Poland?
We are legal advisers providing comprehensive legal services to clients interested in obtaining a Polish passport and/or Polish citizenship.
Where is Hexon Poland located?
We have offices in the UK and Poland. Our multiple locations allow us to communicate with our clients swiftly. We pride ourselves on our quality of service.
You are a law firm. Is your service expensive?
We are competitively priced and we are unique on the market in our success rate, reflecting our expertise in this legal area. In terms of individual pricing, like every law firm this depends on the complexity of the legal case, and each case is different. If we do not need to search for documents in Polish archives, we offer a flat fee which ranges from £800 to £1500, including all costs. Our fee is payable in two instalments, i.e. 50% payable upfront, and the rest of the balance when we successfully finish the whole process. We also offer a ‘no win no fee’ option.
I have Polish ancestors, but how can I find out if I am eligible for Polish citizenship?
Contact us today and one of our advisors will be able to advise you on your eligibility for Polish citizenship. We will ask you a couple of questions about your family history to establish your chances of success. We do not take on cases if we are not convinced that we can succeed. This policy of transparency with clients allows us to maintain our high success rate. We even offer a ‘no win no fee’ option.
If I do not have sufficient documentation, can you assist me in searching for my family documents in Polish archives?
Yes. We are very experienced in searching for documents in Polish archives and we have access to all Polish archives. If the documents survived WW2, we will find them.
How long will the whole process take place?
Due to the pandemic, the procedures in Poland are taking longer than usual at this time. On average, since the start of the pandemic it takes 6-8 months to obtain a citizenship certificate. We submit hundreds of applications to the Polish authorities a year, and we have successfully helped thousands of people claim their citizenship - we know how it works. Ask for a money-back guarantee if other firms promise you that they can get it earlier.
Do I need to pass the Polish language test?
No.
Are my children eligible for Polish citizenship as well?
Yes. Polish citizenship is based on the principle of ius sanguinis (right of blood). Therefore, your children, grandchildren, etc., are also eligible to obtain a Polish passport, if you are too. We can advise you on this.
Is there any difference between a Polish and EU passport?
No. A Polish passport is a EU passport, as Poland is a member of the EU. You can live, work, study, etc., in the EU countries (including France, Spain, Italy, Germany, etc.) with a Polish passport.
Is the citizenship certificate the only document I need to obtain a Polish passport at the consulate?
No. You also need to obtain a Polish birth certificate and a Polish marriage certificate if you are married. We will transcribe (register) your birth and marriage certificates at the Polish Register Office to obtain Polish birth and marriage certificates. Please note that this service will be included in the fee we will quote you. Please contact us for individual pricing.
Are any negative consequences of having dual citizenship?
No. As long as you reside permanently outside Poland, you have no tax or military duties in Poland.
Can you obtain a Polish passport for me and send it to my address?
No. Once we obtain your citizenship certificate as well as Polish birth and marriage certificates, you will need to visit a Polish consulate and apply for a passport. You need to apply for a passport in person as the consulate will take your fingerprints - this is a standard required step for Polish passports. We offer services to help: this includes prefilling the passport application form and relevant documents for you, and sending it to you directly with all documents required for the application. Please note, any firm offering to obtain the physical passport itself on your behalf is not genuine.
